Fire destroys Hilo warehouse
Advertiser Staff and News Services
Fire destroyed an unoccupied warehouse in Hilo early yesterday morning but caused no injuries.
Six fire units responded to the 1 a.m. blaze at 60A East Ohea Street, but the abandoned structure had collapsed and was fully engulfed in flames when the first unit arrived three minutes later.
Officials believe the single-story, wooden structure was 70 years old.
Fire investigators have yet to determine the cause of the blaze, but they believe the fire may have been intentionally set.
