TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE: "Lost," 7 p.m., NBC; "The Amazing Race," 8 p.m., CBS, both premieres. Tonight the reality rush reaches overload when two epic adventures premiere back-to-back. "Lost" is merely an end-of-summer diversion, which is warming up the spot "Ed" will take next month. "The Amazing Race," by comparison, is part of CBS' fall lineup. There is a bigger difference: "Lost" is fairly plain and mildly interesting. "The Amazing Race" is dazzling; its opening hour is stuffed with fascinating people and places, leaving us wanting more. Both have the same notion: Teams of two are given little money and no credit cards or electronics before starting a mission.

"Big Brother," 7 p.m., CBS. As a cheap gimmick to boost "Amazing Race," CBS has hurriedly added an extra hour of "Big Brother." This time it has four "Survivor" veterans at the house, competing in games with the final four "Big Brother" survivors.

"Sister Wendy's American Collection," 8 p.m., PBS. Britain's "art nun" tours six American museums, beginning with Boston's Museum of Fine Arts in this two-hour show.
