JOHN "JOHNNY" KWAI LUM CHONG, 65, of Honolulu, died Aug. 28, 2001. Born in Honolulu. Operator of Kila Kila Limousine Service, and sixth generation grandmaster with Pak Mei Pai Kung Fu. Survived by wife, Debbi; sons, Gabriel, Noah, Marcus and Damien; daughters, Rebekah, Angelica, Laura Jean McShane, Johnelle Goalstone and Melissa Chun; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Visitation 9 a.m. Monday at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary; service 11 a.m.; burial 1 p.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park.

DUANE W. COMPTON, 76, of Honolulu, died Sept. 2, 2001. Born in Fargo, N.D. A lieutenant colonel retired from the U.S. Army and school teacher retired from Campbell High School. Survived by wife, Alice; sons, Albert, Bruce; daughters, Lani Batey, Momi Lunning; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. PRESTON KEALOHA DELA CRUZ, 44, of Kailua, Kona and Papakolea, O'ahu, died Aug. 25, 2001. Born in Honolulu. A singer with the Kalahee Trio, Hawaiian entertainer also employed at the old Willows Restaurant. SOTERO M. GARMA, 87, of 'Ele'ele, Kaua'i, died Aug. 23, 2001. Born in the Philippines. A custodian for First Hawaiian Bank. KENNETH TADAHARU HASHIZAKI, 62, of Pukalani, Maui, died Sept. 2, 2001. Born in Pu'unene, Maui. Employed as a nursery worker at KaLima O Maui.
