School's back, e-cheating's in

Gannett News Service

Kids have always cheated, but the Internet has helped explode the practice in schools, reports the September issue of Family Life magazine. Sites such as netcheats.com and screw-essays.com provide free term papers and book reviews.

How can you help your child avoid it? Half the kids who cheat don't know they're doing it. Explain clearly to your child what constitutes cheating. And be a role model by being strictly honest in everything yourself.

Also, watch how you encourage your child to get good grades. Your child may resort to cheating to please you or gain the reward. Instead, give an "A" for effort.
