Looking for a productive way to celebrate the first day of autumn? Consider perusing the 17th annual Hawai'i Seniors' Fair, Sept. 21-23 at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall.

Aisles will be lined with 230 information booths, among them displays by shoe manufacturer New Balance, the Kona Hawaiian Village and Lanakila Meals on Wheels. Other booths will showcase travel services, senior associations and health-care providers.

In addition, there will be bingo, miniature golf, craft demonstrations, contests, flu shots and entertainment. Saturday performers include Jake Shimabukuro (9 a.m.), a cultural performance group from New Zealand (noon) and contestants from the Miss Hawai'i Senior America Pageant (2 p.m.).

About 25,000 people are expected to attend the free event, which opens at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 4:30 p.m. daily. Though the event is targeted at people 50 and older, all ages are welcome.
