University of Hawai'i

• Football: The fate of Saturday's game at Nevada (Reno) will be determined, possibly today, by the WAC and other NCAA conferences.

• Volleyball: Loyola Marymount canceled its volleyball trip to Hawai'i. Tentatively, Saturday's Wahine-BYU match is still on.


Hawai'i colleges

• Officials at Brigham Young-Hawai'i, Chaminade, Hawai'i-Hilo and Hawai'i Pacific said upcoming local events likely will proceed as planned. But scheduled road trips are still up in the air because of yesterday's air travel ban and the subsequent backlog that is expected.


High schools

• ILH: League postponed bowling and volleyball until further notice. ... has not made decision on football.

• OIA: Department of Education will announce its intentions today.

• Kaua'i: League will continue its schedule of events.


Baseball

• Major Leagues: All 15 games yesterday were postponed. ... today's Chicago White Sox at New York Yankees game has been postponed. ... Commissioner Bud Selig did not make any decision about today's other games.


Football

• NFL: League said it will decide by tomorrow whether to cancel or postpone this weekend's games.

• College: Commissioners are considered postponing the weekend's entire schedule, with a decision expected as early as today.


Others

• Golf: PGA Tour canceled tomorrow's start of the World Golf Championship and two other tournaments.

• Auto racing: NASCAR canceled Friday's qualifying for New Hampshire 300, but made no decision concerning the race itself.
