Radford graduate Salanoa honored

Quarterback Fred Salanoa of Eastern Washington is the Sports Network I-AA Offensive Player of the Week after throwing four touchdown passes in the Eagles' win over Connecticut Saturday.

Salanoa, a 1996 graduate of Radford High School, completed 25 of 38 attempts for 367 yards.

Eastern Washington, which is in the Big Sky Conference, is ranked 18th in this week's Sports Network I-AA poll.

• Semi-pro meeting: A meeting for interested male and female football players for a semi pro league will be held today at 7:30 p.m. at the Pacheco Park baseball field in Pearl City.

There will be a briefing on the O'ahu "eight man/women, adult amateur" Football League being implemented in 2002 and about tryouts and a camp scheduled for Sept. 25 through Oct. 14.
