New airport security regulations

• Only ticketed passengers with confirmed reservations will be allowed into the airport. No curbside check-in service.

• Drivers can only drop off and pick up passengers at the curb of the departures and arrivals terminal and will not be allowed to leave their vehicle alone to help carry baggage.

• Passengers driving themselves to the airport will not be allowed to drop off luggage at the curbside.

• Vehicles entering the airport parking facilities will be thoroughly inspected. Drivers must show photo IDs. Each vehicle inspection could take two to three minutes.

• Vehicles parked within 300 feet of the airport terminal will be towed.

Traffic patterns at Honolulu airport will also change, beginning at 5 this morning.

• People wishing to park in either the overseas or interisland terminal parking structures will be required to enter from the street level. Persons using the H-1 Freeway to get to the airport should exit onto Nimitz Highway if they want to park.

• People wishing to drop off or pick up passengers will be required to use the second level. Passengers will be required to claim their bags from the carousels, and take the elevators or escalators to the second level.

• No driver will be allowed to wait at curbside for a passenger. Passengers should collect their baggage and go to the second level before calling their driver to pick them up.Ê

• Drivers must remain in their vehicles at all times. Only active loading and unloading is permitted.

• Tour buses will be required to enter the airport from Aolele Street.
