The September 11th attack
Pacific Century dividends may be delayed
Advertiser Staff and News Services
Pacific Century Financial Corp. said yesterday that its dividend payments, scheduled to be paid Monday to shareholders of record as of Aug. 24, may be delayed because of air and mail service interruptions resulting from Tuesday's terrorist attacks.
The delay will affect about 5,500 to 6,000 registered shareholders receiving a dividend check by mail. Pacific Century, parent company of Bank of Hawaii, said it anticipates that these shareholders could begin receiving their checks within the next two to three business days. Dividends paid electronically should not experience delays.
