The September 11th attack
Hawai'i Army lab scientists to help ID Pentagon victims

Associated Press

Four anthropologists from the Army's Central Identification Laboratory are to help in identifying those killed in the terrorist attack on the Pentagon.

The team will travel to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, where the remains have been taken.

As of yesterday, 85 remains have been recovered from the Pentagon, which was hit by a hijacked airliner Tuesday.

The Defense Department said 188 people — military and civilian employees at the Pentagon and the passengers and crew in the plane — were believed killed in the crash.

Normally, the laboratory at Hickam Air Force Base is used to identify remains believed to be those of U.S. soldiers killed in the Vietnam War, the Korean War and World War II.
