Monitor child's Internet use

By Zenaida Serrano Espanol

Parents can learn how to guide their children's use of the Internet at one of the free Parent Internet Education workshops being presented by the state public library system throughout October. Libraries statewide will offer the hour-long workshop, which is being held in celebration of Children and Youth Month.

"The workshops are designed to help parents identify risks, as well as rewards (of the Net), and to work with the child to set limits of use that reflect the family's values," said Paul H. Mark, information specialist of the library system. The workshop will also cover the library system's policies and programs that monitor children's use of the Internet in state libraries. For more information, call 831-6878 or your local library for workshop dates and times.
