The Hawaii Instructional Materials Association awarded $1,000 scholarships to Dominique Desroches, University of Hawai'i-Manoa; Deborah Hamamoto, UH-Hilo; and Debbie Uyeda, UH-Manoa.
The Hawaii Police Athletic Federation awarded scholarships to: Bronson Sismar of the University of Hawai'i, $1,500; Ryan Hunt of UH, $1,500; Bodrina Saragosa of Honolulu Community College, $1,500; Karla Nakashima of the University of Washington, $1,000; and Ryan Nakamura of UH, $1,000.
The Honolulu Chapter of Executive Women International awarded $1,000 scholarships to 10 Hawai'i residents. The scholarship program, called Adult Students in Scholastic Transition, is for adults in a variety of transitional situations who are enrolling or who have enrolled in a continuing education curriculum. Those honored: Jodie Blaisdell, Lesley Chong, Tracey Miranda, Vivian Flaskas, Bo Kyung Lee, Nanette Miles, Gerraine Tom, Michele Saballa, Sonia Wah Yick and Julia Yhvah.
The Kalakaua Foundation awarded scholarships to: Lina Ipo Keopuhiwa, a graduate of Nanakuli High, $2,000 for the next four years; Katannya Kapeli of Pacific University, $5,000; and Michael Robinson, a graduate of Punahou School, $2,000.
The newly inaugurated officers and directors of the Oahu Filipino Community Council are:
