Rally to be held in Waikiki
Mike Gabbard announced yesterday that a Stand Up for America Parade and Rally will be held Saturday "both as a tribute to the victims and families of the tragic events that occurred last Tuesday and as a message to the world that Americans stand united against those who have declared war on us."
The parade is to begin at 9 a.m. at the east end of Magic Island and conclude with a rally at the Waikiki bandstand at Kapiolani Park, Gabbard said.
Gabbard is the organizer and spokesman for the parade committee.
He led the successful campaign against same-sex marriage in Hawai'i in 1998. His wife, Carol, is a member of the Board of Education.
Two are critical after collision
Two people were in critical condition at The Queens Medical Center last night after a collision involving a motorcycle and a car at 900 Ala Moana Blvd.
The two people, a man and a woman, had been riding a motorcycle when it collided with a Honda.
The woman was not wearing a helmet.
Police closed the eastbound lanes of Ala Moana between Ward Avenue and Koula Street while traffic investigators worked last night.
10 sought in attack on boys
Police are searching for a group of up to 10 suspected gang members who assaulted two boys in the 2800 block of Kalihi Street at approximately 12:30 a.m. Saturday.
The boys were stabbed with unknown objects and taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said.
A witness said the victims had been drinking in a parking lot when the gang approached them, and that the assailants fled in two cars. Police detained two cars following the attack, but the witness could not identify any suspects.

Boy, 1, crawls to sea, drowns
A 1-year-old boy drowned in the ocean off La'ie Friday after crawling out of a home in the 55-300 block of Kamehameha Highway undetected, police said.
The child, about 1 year old, was discovered floating in the water by his father at approximately 5 p.m. The boy's mother tried to resuscitate him but was unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at Kahuku Hospital soon after.
The baby apparently crawled out of the house through an open door, police said.

Accident victim still critical
A 14-year-old Kapolei girl remained in critical condition at the Queen's Medical Center yesterday after the pickup truck she was riding in flipped over on Kalaeloa Boulevard on Saturday afternoon.
The 18-year-old male driver, also from Kapolei, and two additional passengers, a 15-year-old Kapolei boy and 14-year-old 'Ewa Beach girl, sustained lesser injuries.
Police said the driver may have been speeding when he lost control of the 2000 Ford Ranger while exiting the H-1 freeway at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
The truck was turning south onto Kalaeloa but crossed the median, spun out in the northbound lanes, hit the curb and flipped onto its roof.
The driver and the critically injured girl suffered head injuries and were taken to St. Francis Medical Center-West, then transferred to Queen's. The other two victims were taken to St. Francis.
OHA trustee set to speak
Office of Hawaiian Affairs trustee Oswald Stender will discuss issues facing the organization at the Kapolei Rotary Club meeting at 7:30 a.m. Thursday at the Kapolei High School faculty/staff lounge.
The Hawai'i Supreme Court released a decision last week on a lawsuit brought by OHA seeking ceded land revenues generated by Waikiki Duty Free Shoppers and other entities. OHA had hoped to collect hundreds of millions of dollars from a favorable ruling, but now the group's long-term financial ability to help Native Hawaiians is in question.

Two drownings on Big Island
A 26-year-old Hawi man apparently drowned yesterday off Mahukona in North Kohala, Big Island officials said.
The man got into trouble while snorkeling on the north side of Mahukona Bay and was pushed against the rocky shoreline, the Fire Department said.
He was pulled from the water by bystanders, who had started cardiopulmonary resuscitation by the time rescue units arrived.
The man was pronounced dead at Kohala Hospital. His name was withheld, pending notification of his family.
Meanwhile, Hilo police yesterday identified a man who drowned Saturday on the Big Island as Melchor Sambrano, 19, of Waimea.
A student at the University of Hawai'i-Hilo, Sambrano suffered a head injury when he dived into the Wailuku River while swimming with a group of friends at Pi'ihonua Falls, less than a mile upriver from the river's Boiling Pots section.
Sambrano failed to surface after he dived at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday. A Fire Department rescue crew arrived and found Sambrano's friends struggling to revive him. He was pronounced dead at Hilo Medical Center.
