Queen's dental clinic obtains funding
Associated Press
The dental clinic at Queen's Medical Center will continue operating at least until June 2003.
Gov. Ben Cayetano has placed $200,000 in the executive budget for the 2002-2003 fiscal year to keep the clinic operating.
The Dental Residency Program "serves a critical population in our community, and I am glad the program will remain open," Cayetano said.
The program is the only one of its kind in the state that serves the disabled and those requiring hospital-level dental care in Hawaii.
Queen's had said it would close the clinic next June 30 because of operating losses.
