Mrs. America pageant finals at 6 tonight

Though the Sept. 11 attacks forced cancellation of one pageant event and interfered with some delegates' travel plans, the Mrs. America pageant has quietly continued taping its events this week at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.

Mrs. Hawai'i Sydney Fasi (seen at right during Wednesday night's preliminary competition) and other delegates compete at 6 tonight in the finals on the hotel's Lagoon Green. The theme is "We Are Family" and much red, white and blue is in evidence as the pageant celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.
