BLOOD DONORS
• Blood Bank of Hawai'i, donors should call 845-9966 on O'ahu or 800-372-9966. Basic requirements: good health, 18 or older, at least 110 pounds, valid photo ID.
• Tripler Army Medical Center has scheduled extra blood drives on all installations on O'ahu. Call 433-6195.
DONATIONS
• The state of New York has established a New York State World Trade Center Relief Fund to support the emergency response effort and victim assistance. Donations may be sent to New York State World Trade Center Relief Fund, P.O. Box 5028, Albany, NY 12205, or call 1-800-801-8092.
• Checks may be sent to the American Red Cross, 4155 Diamond Head Road, Honolulu, HI 96816. Checks should be made payable to "American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund." Call 739-8105, go to www.redcross.org or call the toll-free number: 1-800-HELP-NOW (1-800-435-7669).
• Ala Moana Center, Pearlridge Center and Kahala Mall are serving as donation sites for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. Pearlridge will accept donations through Oct. 3, and Kahala will accept donations through Sunday.
• The Hawai'i Community Foundation, with Aloha United Way and community and financial institutions, has established "The September 11th Fund" to support victims. Donations can be made through American Savings Bank, Bank of Hawai'i, Bank of the Orient, Central Pacific Bank, City Bank, Finance Factors, First Hawaiian Bank, Hawai'i National Bank, HomeStreet Bank, Honolulu City and County Employees Federal Credit Union and Territorial Savings. Donations also can be made at Foodland or Sack N Save stores statewide, and a portion will be matched as part of the stores' Give Aloha program through Sept. 30. Donations can be mailed to The September 11th Fund, c/o Hawai'i Community Foundation, Pioneer Plaza, 900 Fort Street Mall, Suite 1300, Honolulu, HI 96813, or made online at www.hcf-hawaii.org.
• First Samoan Body of Christ Church will donate proceeds from a fund-raiser car wash tomorrow to the Salvation Army. Mililani Wal-Mart from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• To contribute to the New York Fire Fighters 9-11 Disaster Relief Fund: Drop off checks any O'ahu fire station between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. when the company is in quarters. Mail checks to the Hawai'i Fire Fighters Association, Local 1463 IAFF, AFL-CIO, 2305 S. Beretania St., Room 202, Honolulu, HI 96826.

• Dine for America will hold benefit dinners in restaurants nationwide, including Honolulu, on Oct. 11. Proceeds go to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. Elissa Josephsohn, 732-7733.
• Restaurant Suntory at Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center is offering a special menu for which 100 percent of the proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross. Information: 922-5511. Validated parking.
• Movie theaters, including the Signature, Consolidated and Wallace theater chains here, will donate 100 percent of proceeds from Sept. 25 ticket and concession sales to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund and the September 11th Fund of the United Way.
• A collection for victims has been started by the Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawai'i. Members and friends of Honpa Hongwanji's 36 temples statewide are asked to contribute to their local temples, with checks indicating the money should go to the "National Disaster Relief Fund" or "NDR Fund Drive." The collection will go to the American Red Cross or other appropriate organizations. For information, call 522-9200.
• The family of Maile Hale, a 26-year-old 1993 Kaiser High School graduate who has been missing since attending a Sept. 11 conference at the World Trade Center, has set up a scholarship fund in her honor. The scholarship will go toward the Williams College/Mystic Seaport maritime studies program that Hale attended while she was at Weslyan University, where she graduated in 1997. Contributions can be sent to the endowment fund named for Benjamin Labaree, the professor who founded the semester-at-sea program, at: The Labaree Scholarship Endowment Fund, c/o Williams-Mystic, P.O. Box 6000, Mystic, CT 06355. The Rotary Club of Honolulu also is accepting donations in Hale's honor for the Children's Justice Center, which aids victims of child abuse. Checks can be made out to the Rotary Club of Honolulu, 2259 Kalakaua Ave., Honolulu, HI 96816, with "donation for Maile Hale" written in the memo portion of the check.
• In conjunction with the 75th anniversary of Aloha Tower, the public is invited to a special program at Aloha Tower Marketplace at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow. A giant "Lei of Aloha" made with messages of
good will from those wishing to donate to the Hawai'i Community Foundation's September 11 Relief Fund will be assembled. "Sharing 75 Years of Aloha" ribbon pins will be given to the first 500 people, beginning at 10 a.m.
• Spy Bar at John Dominis Restaurant, 43 Ahui St., will hold a fund-raiser next Friday from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m., with all proceeds going to the Red Cross disaster relief fund. John Dominis will match the amount raised. Participants are asked to wear black, candles will be lighted to honor the victims, and patriotic ribbons will be distributed. The event is sponsored by SOHO Promotions, creators of Spy Bar.
