Kalihi stabbing suspect held

Police arrested a 20-year-old man after he allegedly stabbed two men who attacked him in Kalihi yesterday.

According to police, four assailants beat the man on Alokele Street near Kala-kaua Intermediate School at 12:05 a.m. He ran into a house on Alokele Street and was followed. He then grabbed a knife and stabbed two of his assailants, police said.

One man was taken to Kaiser Moanalua Medical Center with a knife wound on his head. Another man was taken to the Queen's Medical Center with knife wounds to his chest and stomach. Both were in guarded condition yesterday, police said.

The 20-year-old was arrested on charges of second-degree attempted murder and first-degree terroristic threatening. Police also have opened a third-degree assault case against the four assailants.
