Woman killed in Mililani car crash

A 45-year-old woman motorist was killed in Mililani yesterday in a one-car crash that caused police to close a section of Kamehameha Highway for about five hours.
According to police, a 1986 Chevy station wagon traveling makai on Kamehameha Highway ran off the road about a half-mile makai of Lanikuhana Avenue around 1:20 a.m.
The car went up a dirt embankment on the right shoulder and rolled over. The driver was thrown from the car and pinned beneath it.
Police said she was not wearing a seat belt. It is not known whether speeding or alcohol were factors.
This was O'ahu's 58th traffic fatality this year, compared to 48 by the same time last year.
