TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE: "Back to the Future" (1985), 7:30 p.m., NBC. Now it's time to settle back and savor a classic adventure. "Back to the Future" has it all: comedy that turns into a ripping good adventure. After filming had already begun, Michael J. Fox was brought in as a replacement, rehearsing "Family Ties" by day, filming "Future" by night and catching an hour or so of sleep. Fortunately, he matched the part of the wide-eyed kid who suddenly was back in his parents' past. Christopher Lloyd is also terrific, but the real credit goes to producer Steven Spielberg and director Robert Zemeckis, reminding us that a funny movie could also have first-rate action.

"Ponderosa," 7 p.m., Pax TV. A quick rerun of the episode in which we learned more about Joaquin, the handsome former Mexican soldier who lost his family ranch and joined the Cartwrights.

"As Good as It Gets" (1997), 8 p.m., TNT. Three perfect performances (Jack Nicholson, Helen Hunt and Greg Kinnear( mark this beautifully observed romantic comedy-drama.
