WALTER AKAMU, 83, of Honolulu, died Sept. 14, 2001. Survived by wife, Kay; sons, Matthew, Peter and Lindsey; daughter, Nancy Hiu; a grandson; brother, Eugene; sisters, Florence Ing and Annie Akamu. Private service held. Arrangements by Borthwick Mortuary.

RUBY MAY BOLLUM, 85, of Hawaiian Ocean View Estates on the Big Island, died Sept. 14, 2001. Born in Tillman, Okla. A retired bookkeeper. Survived by daughters, Nadine McCay, Freda Bidleman, Suzanne Logemann, Dorothy Wilkerson and La Donna Adkins; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. IRENE CONRAD, 89, of Honolulu, died Sept. 14, 2001. Born in Sallisaw, Okla. A former Los Angeles Realtor and member of Leeward Church of Christ. CHARLES KALE "CHARLIE" FERNANDEZ, 67, of Honolulu, died Sept. 17, 2001. Born in Ka'u, Hawai'i. A retired commercial fisherman. Survived by children, Mary-Ann Fernandez-Hawelu, Charles Jr., Roland, Roy, Jamie Fernandez-Charnick, Charlotte Fernandez-Paet, Russell and Wesley; sister, Ann "Pasing" Delos Santos; brothers, Lewi Mokuhalii-Fernandez and Nelson Kealoha-Mokualii; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. Survived by wife, Kouko; daughters, Harumi Hatchie-Leong and Joanne McCullough; son, Harry Jr.; brothers, James, Kalani "Joseph" and Andrew Sr.; sisters, Margaret Prescott, Ruby Kaaihue and Gladiola "Aloha" Schneider; six grandchildren.
