Everyone likes a good story. So, adults and keiki alike are welcome to enjoy dozens of tales at the 13th annual Talk Story Festival, Hawai'i's largest celebration of storytelling and oral history, 7-9:30 p.m. Oct. 5-7 at McCoy Pavilion, Ala Moana Beach Park.
The free event, presented by the Honolulu Department of Parks and Recreation, and Internet service provider LavaNet, will feature about 10 storytellers each night from across the state and the Mainland, such as local storyteller James McCarthy (pictured). The schedule of events include: spooky stories on Oct. 5, tales for children on Oct. 6 and adventure tales on Oct. 7. Seating is limited, so organizers suggest going early.
Those who can't make it to the festival can check it out via a live Webcast on all three nights at lava.net/talkstory2001. Visit the Web site or call 973-7262 for more information.
