Mackenzie Keali'i McCue of 'Aiea celebrated his first birthday with a luncheon given by has parents, Nancy and Patrick McCue, and his sister, Mackenna McCue, on Sept. 8 at the Pearl Country Club. Mackenzie was born Sept. 5, 2000.

Jacob Hiroshi Momohara of Honolulu celebrated his first birthday with a luncheon given by his parents, Jason and Kristine Momohara, and grandparents, Hiroo and Janet Momohara, on Aug. 25 at the Hawai'i Okinawa Center. Jacob was born Aug. 23, 2000.

Jack Van Osdol of Kane'ohe celebrated his 80th birthday with a dinner given by his children, Jack Van Osdol Jr., Peter Van Osdol, Malia May and Ann Van Osdol, and his children's spouses, Donna Van Osdol, Louella Van Osdol and Richard May, on Sept. 15 at Haleiwa Joe's Seafood Grill. Osdol, born Sept. 16, 1921, is a retired Navy captain and bank officer, and has four children and four grandchildren.
