Musician Cyril Pahinui recovers instruments

Advertiser Staff

The musical instruments and Gabby Pahinui clock stolen from musician Cyril Pahinui's home on Sept. 2 have been recovered, police said today.

Pahinui, son of the late Hawaiian music legend Gabby Pahinui and a respected entertainer himself, returned to O'ahu last week and was able to locate his instruments through "various music sources," police said. The sources were not immediately identified.

No one has been arrested in the case. Pahinui said he was glad to have his instruments and keepsakes returned in good condition, police said.

The theft prompted outrage among many in the community, including fans of both Pahinuis.
