2 arrested in Kalihi stabbing case

A 28-year-old Kalihi man was in guarded condition at Queen's Medical Center and two men were arrested after a stabbing last night in Kalihi, police said.

Police saidd the Kalihi man went to a Kamohoali'i home looking for someone and was stabbed several times after a fight ensued.

A 48-year-old 'aina Haina man and a 56-year-old Salt Lake man sustained minor injuries during the fight and were treated at Queen's and released. Police arrested both men on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder.

Tire iron assault leads to arrest

Police arrested a 20-year-old man after he allegedly struck another man in the face and shoulder with a tire iron last night in Nanakuli.

Police said a 23-year-old man was fixing his car near the intersection of Piliokahi Avenue and Pohakupalena Street when another man stopped to give him assistance.

The motorist said he didn't need any assistance, but the other man, who appeared to be intoxicated, insisted, police said.

An argument erupted and the man who offered help took the motorist's tire iron, threatened him and hit him with it, according to police. The man was arrested on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening and second-degree assault.
