BLOOD DONORS

• Blood Bank of Hawai'i donors should call 845-9966 on O'ahu or 800-372-9966.


DONATIONS

• The state of New York has established a New York State World Trade Center Relief Fund to support the emergency response effort and victim assistance: New York State World Trade Center Relief Fund, P.O. Box 5028, Albany, NY 12205, or call 800-801-8092.

• Checks may be sent to the American Red Cross, 4155 Diamond Head Road, Honolulu, HI 96816. Checks should be made payable to American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. Call 739-8105, go to www.redcross.org or call toll-free: (800) HELP-NOW (435-7669).

• The Hawai'i Community Foundation, with Aloha United Way and community and financial institutions, has established a September 11th Fund to support victims. Donations can be made through American Savings Bank, Bank of Hawaii, Bank of the Orient, Central Pacific Bank, City Bank, Finance Factors, First Hawaiian Bank, Hawai'i National Bank, HomeStreet Bank, Honolulu City and County Employees Federal Credit Union and Territorial Savings. Donations also can be made at Foodland or Sack N Save stores, and a portion will be matched as part of the stores' Give Aloha program through Sept. 30. Donations can be mailed to The September 11th Fund, c/o Hawai'i Community Foundation, Pioneer Plaza, 900 Fort Street Mall, Suite 1300, Honolulu, HI 96813, or made online at www.hcf-hawaii.org

• To contribute to the New York Fire Fighters 9-11 Disaster Relief Fund, drop off checks at any O'ahu fire station 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. when the company is in quarters. Mail checks to the Hawai'i Fire Fighters Association, Local 1463 IAFF, AFL-CIO, 2305 S. Beretania St., Room 202, Honolulu, HI 96826.

• A fund has been established by the Outdoor Circle for local environmentalist Christine Snyder, who was on United Flight 93. Contributions can be made to the Christine Snyder Tree Education Fund by calling The Outdoor Circle at 593-0300.

• The family of Maile Hale, a 1993 Kaiser High School graduate who had been attending a conference at the World Trade Center, has set up a scholarship fund in her honor. The scholarship will go toward the Williams College/Mystic Seaport maritime studies program. Contributions can be sent to: The Labaree Scholarship Endowment Fund, c/o Williams-Mystic, P.O. Box 6000, Mystic, CT 06355. The Rotary Club of Honolulu also is accepting donations in Hale's honor for the Children's Justice Center. • A benefit with live entertainment and silent auction for Hawai'i families of victims is planned Oct. 18 at Victoria Ward Centre. Tickets, available at Ticket Plus locations, Charge by Phone: 526-4400, Blaisdell Arena Box Office, Ward Warehouse ticket booth, Ryan's Palomino and Kincaid's restaurants, are $25. Call 591-9132.

• Dine for America will hold benefit dinners in restaurants nationwide on Oct. 11. Proceeds go to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. Participants include Dixie Grill on Ward Avenue and in 'Aiea; Auntie Pasto's on Beretania Street and Kapahulu Avenue; Compadres Bar & Grill at Ward Centre and Maui's Lahaina Cannery; Ryan's in Ward Centre; Kincaid's in Ward Warehouse; Palomino in Harbor Court; Ruth's Chris Steak House, Sansei and Kengo's at Restaurant Row; Nick's Fishmarket in Waikiki; and Jimmy Lakeside Cafe and Dots in Wahiawa. • Outback Steakhouse restaurants in Hawai'i are holding fund-raisers for the Red Cross. On O'ahu from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m tomorrow, Outback Steakhouse will offer special-cut sirloin and chicken plate lunches for $5. Curb-side take out available in Hawai'i Kai and Waipi'o. On Maui, the restaurant at Pi'ilani Village Shopping Center in Kihei will sell a $5 chicken and beef plate lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow. The event will be repeated Oct. 14 in Kahana.

• A&B Properties Inc. is sponsoring "Celebrate America" from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow at its Maui Mall in Kahului. Proceeds from a $1 hot dog-and-soda sale by Star Market and Maui Soda & Ice Works will be donated to the September 11 Relief Fund.

• The Hawai'i State Bar Association will donate half of the proceeds from its annual fund-raising dinner to the September 11th Fund; Nov. 20, Hilton Hawaiian Village; tickets $100; public welcome. 537-1868.

• Proceeds from the Hawai'i Kai Retirement Community's pancake supper tomorrow from 4:30-7 p.m. will go to people directly affected by the attacks. Call 395-9599 or 396-0720.

• The Paradise Cove Luau will donate $3 from every ticket through Sunday to the New York Firefighters 9-11 Disaster Relief Fund. Call 842-7911 on O'ahu, (800) 775-2683 on the Neighbor Islands.
