Mid-Pacific race moved to Barbers Point

The Mid-Pacific Road Runners 25K race will be at Barbers Point/Kalaeloa Sunday, with a 5:30 a.m. start for runners and joggers and an hour earlier start for walkers.

The race, part of an annual pre-marathon training series, was moved from its usual Schofield Army Barracks site because of heightened military security.

Second Niketown run set for Oct. 7

The second annual Niketown 5K run is at 7 a.m. Oct. 7 starting and ending at Niketown Honolulu at the King Kalakaua Plaza in Waikiki.

Fees are $10 for children 12 years and under and $15 for ages 13 and older. All entry fees will be donated to help pay for O'ahu schools' athletic programs and play equipment.

A Kids Run for children 12-and-under will be at Fort DeRussy Park.

7th Dolphin Dash at Waikoloa resort

The seventh annual Dolphin Dash for runners and walkers is Oct. 15 at Hilton Waikoloa Village on the Big Island.

The 5-kilometer run/walk and 10-kilometer run is a benefit for the Pacific Marine Life Foundation and Hawai'i Shriners Hospital for Children.

Registration is 7-8 a.m. and both races begin at 8 a.m. A Little Dolphin Dash, for children 12-and-under, is planned for 9:30 a.m.

Races begin at Hilton Waikoloa Village's Ocean View Terrace and wind throughout resort.

Entry fee is $25 for the 10K race, $20 for the 5K run/walk and $25 for the Little Dolphin Dash keiki run.
