Baseball

Basketball

Sept. 30— 6-2 and over Open Basketball League begins. At Booth Park (Pauoa Gym). Games Sundays at 5 p.m. Fee: $425. Information: Efren Rivera 671-6378.

Oct. 5-7—4th annual HI-PAL 8-under Basketball Jam. At The Boys and Girls Club, Hilo. Format: pool play. Tournament limited to first 16 teams in East Hawai'i, and first 12 in West Hawai'i. Information: HI-PAL office 961-2219 or 961-2220 in East Hawai'i or 326-4276 in West Hawai'i.

Motorcross

Oct. 28 — The Kahuku 360 (six-hour) off-road endurance motorcycle race. At Wailee State Park, Kahuku, at the motorcross track. Race starts 9 a.m. The course will be routed through difficult forest areas to high speed open sections testing all riders. There will be three-person teams, two-person teams and the Ironman class where riders do the whole six hours alone. Information: Blane Chambers 479-3068.


Running

Sept. 30 — Susan G. Komen Hawai'i Race for the Cure. At Kapi'olani Park. Fund-raiser for breast cancer research. The 5K race begins at 7:30 a.m.,one-mile walk at 7:45 a.m. Late registration $22 after Sept. 22) and $18 each person when five or more registration mailed together. Information: 973-5967.


Softball

Oct. 6 — Kaiulani Athletic Club 14" Softball League. Every Saturday at Lanakila Field. 10 games minimum. Cost: $275 per team. Information: Bernard 848-4822, 678-5133 (pager).

Oct. 9 — Amateur Softball Association coaches meeting, 7 p.m., at Queen Lili'uokalani Children's Center Honolulu Unit, 1300A Halona St. Looking for individuals interested in coaching girls softball, umpiring and/or just want to get involved with the girls 2002 ASA Softball program.


Swimming

Triathlon

Nov. 3 — NYTRO Hawai'i Hale'iwa Triathlon. At Hale'iwa Beach Park. Race starts 7:30 a.m. 400-meter swim, 12-mile bike, 3-mile run. Cost: $40 per person before Oct. 27, and $50 after. Applications and information: 638-8173.

Boys and Girls Club of 'Ewa Beach volunteer coaches for boys and girls teams. Teams consist of youths ages 7-14 Information: 689-4182. Deadline: Sept. 28.


Flag football

Spalding Clubhouse volleyball and flag football coaches needed until Nov. 30. Games and practices weekdays from 4-7 p.m. and some Saturday mid-morning games. Information call: 942-5111.


Soccer
