David Crosby, a founding member of the popular folk-rock band Crosby, Stills and Nash, will introduce his new group, CPR, in a concert at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center's McCoy Studio Theater.
It will be the group's only Hawai'i appearance.
Crosby, also once a member of The Byrds, performs in CPR with Jeff Pevar, a guitarist, and Crosby's son, James Raymond, on keyboards. Pevar is an accomplished musician who has performed or recorded with a host of industry names, including James Taylor, Joe Cocker, Carly Simon, Bonnie Raitt, Jimmy Webb, Shawn Colvin and Kenny Loggins. Raymond is an established and in-demand studio session musician.
CPR was established in 1995, following a reunion of Crosby and Raymond, who had been given up for adoption 30 years ago. With Pevar, they created a trio specializing in jazz-inflected, rock-flavored sounds.
Tickets: $23.50, on sale at the MACC box office. Charge by phone: (808) 242-7469.
