Classical music for your keiki

By Zenaida Serrano Espanol

Families with young children can enjoy an afternoon of classical music at "Eine Kleine Keiki Musik," a free concert at 4 p.m. today at Calvary by the Sea Lutheran Church, 5339 Kalani'anaole Highway in 'Aina Haina.

The event will be an introduction to the classics geared toward children 6 and under, as well as an opportunity for families to come together to enjoy different types of music, church preschool director Denise Acklin said.

Performers include Miss Hawai'i 2001 Denby Dung, playing clarinet and soprano saxophone; and Arthur Harvey, a University of Hawai'i music education professor and the church's director of music and worship, who will play piano and double-bell euphonium.

Contributions will be accepted for the American Red Cross-Hawai'i State Chapter in support of disaster relief following the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. For more information, call 377-5104.
