Sailors lend a hand to River of Life

Lt. Cmdr. Van Dickens, left, chaplain of the USS Lake Erie, and crew member Josh Sagaripay were among those who volunteered Saturday at the River of Life Mission in downtown Honolulu.

Sailors from the Aegis cruiser and members of the Downtown Rotary of Honolulu helped clean, paint and repair the mission, which has helped feed, bathe and clothe the homeless for 15 years.
