Moloka'i panel agrees to join visitors bureau

The Moloka'i Visitors Association announced yesterday that it has joined the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau as a new department of its Maui Visitors Bureau island chapter.

The Moloka'i Visitors Association said it agreed to join the bureau after receiving support from its membership.

"We are looking forward to working with a statewide organization, which can only enhance visitor awareness of the island of Moloka'i," the board of directors said in a statement.

The board will retain its independence from the bureau by continuing to establish policy and determine specific promotions and activities on Moloka'i.

The move brings all state visitors bureaus under the HVCB umbrella.
