Police today arrested a 18-year-old Kalihi man in connection with a beating and robbery of a 60-year-old man at a Liliha bus stop on March 22.

The 18-year-old man turned himself into police at 12:40 a.m. today and was booked on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder and second-degree robbery.

Police believe three men participated in the beating and robbery of the man.

On March 22, witnesses called police at about 2 a.m. and reported an argument near the intersection of Vineyard Boulevard and Liliha Street. When officers arrived, they found the victim, 60, lying in the boulevard's eastbound lanes, near the median strip.

Kalihi police said witnesses reported that the three robbers accosted the man while he waited for an eastbound bus at the stop just 'ewa of the intersection. The victim's smashed briefcase was found in the road, amid his scattered personal belongings.

He was taken to The Queen's Medical Center where he was last listed in guarded condition. A hospital spokeswoman said she had no information on the man today.
