Tonight's Must-See

• "ER," 9 p.m., NBC. One of TV's best characters, Dr. Mark Greene (Anthony Edwards), is in his last two months. His progressive illness is hampering his coordination. Meanwhile, he has key moments with a new, confident intern and his ex-wife, played by Christine Harnos.

• Merrie Monarch Festival, 6 p.m., KITV. Live from Hilo, hula halau from around the state and a contingent of Mainland and international troupes compete in the annual festival. The competition on opening night is for the Miss Aloha Hula title.


Of Note

• "Friends," 7 p.m., NBC. The last time Joey gave an interview to a soap-opera magazine, he got fired. Now he's ready to try another interview, but he wants his friends there.
