Pssst. Secretary's Day is coming up April 24, and since it's usually the secretary who tips the boss about important calendar dates, let this be a public notice about remembering you-know-who.
Luncheon options this year run the gamut, from Hawaiian music to madcap comedy. Consider the choices so far:
Frank DeLima tops the Ala Moana Hotel's event, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Hibiscus Room. No-host cocktails from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.; buffet luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; DeLima performance, from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Note to bosses: If your secretary (female or male) doesn't have a lei, you can expect to be grilled by the clown prince of comedy. Cost: $29. Call 955-4811.
Kapena delivers its pop and Hawaiian classics at the Sheraton Moana Surfrider Hotel, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m, at the Banyan Veranda. Kelly Boy DeLima and sidekicks Tiva Tatofi and Timo Tatofi will deliver their trademark songs. Cost: $25. Call 922-3111.
The Makaha Sons headline the Renaissance Ilikai Waikiki Hotel's celebration, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Pacific Ballroom. Louis "Moon" Kauakahi and the Koko Brothers, Jerome and John, will share the spotlight with comedian Mel Cabang. Rodney Villanueva hosts. Cost: $30. Call 944-6372.
