RAYMOND "SONNY" KUAANA, 72, of Wailuku and Kanaio, Maui, died April 4, 2002. Born in Kanaio. A heavy equipment operator for Fong Construction, Goodfellow Construction and Hawaiian Dredging Co. Survived by wife, Virginia "Blondie"; stepsons, Raymond "Maka" Rivera, John Rivera, James "Kimo" Rivera and Duane Rivera; stepdaughters, Lorna "Ona" Kumulae, Stacey Hosino, Virginia "Ipo" Kamaka and Judy Pavlik; hanai daughters, Beatrice "Beabea" Hoopai and Cheryl Fernandez; many other hanai children; seven hanai grandchildren; 22 step-grandchildren; 25 stepgreat-grandchildren; sister, Luka Mata; brothers, Jonah, Joseph and Jack. Survived by son, Nicholas; daughters, Brenda Dreier, Toni Pao-Cazares, Diane Enos and Victoria Liu; sisters, Lorraine Ferry and Dorothy Morgan; former husband, Nicholas Pao Jr.; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild.
