Parents can expose their little ones to the grandeur of opera at a much smaller scale through Hawaii Opera Theatre's new Opera Reader Program, which starts April 16 at the Hawai'i State Library children's section.
Volunteer storytellers will share opera tales such as the classic favorites "Cinderella" and "Magic Flute" at 6:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month throughout the year.
The free program is recommended for children in elementary school and younger. Educators may also book a storytelling session for their schools for $40. For details, call 596-7372, Ext. 18.
