Man, 65, drowns off Waikiki

Honolulu police reported yesterday that a 65-year-old man drowned at Queen's Surf Beach in Waikiki at about 2:45 p.m.

Lifeguards said the man was found floating about 20 yards off shore and was pulled from the water. Lifeguards administered CPR.

The man, who apparently had suffered a heart attack, was taken to Straub Clinic & Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, officials said.
