KPMG planning training session
KPMG Consulting Inc. will bring together 300 managers from Asia and the Mainland for corporate training in September as the start of a series of sessions.
The first group will be taught by 20 to 30 KPMG trainers from Asia and the Mainland. But future sessions could be run by experts from Hawai'i universities and think tanks, said Robert Lees, the new Asia adviser at KPMG and former secretary-general for the Pacific Basin Economic Council.
Times purchase completed
California supermarket operator Quinn Supers Inc. today completed its purchase of Times Super Market Ltd.'s 13 O'ahu stores.
The sale was announced in January, and Quinn offered jobs to all 875 Times employees. Other terms were not disclosed.
Changes planned for the stores include expanding Asian food departments, and interior renovations. No immediate changes to Times' Royal Card and other customer programs are planned.
Quinn is an affiliate of PAQ Inc., which was founded in 1995 and operates six Food4Less stores in Northern California.
