Hawai'i-Hilo softball signs pitcher Sing Chow

Kamehameha Schools pitcher Leo Sing Chow has signed a letter of intent to play softball at the University of Hawai'i-Hilo.
Chow, this year's state Player of the Year and a four-time Interscholastic League of Honolulu all-star, led the Warriors to the 2002 state championship. She finished her senior year 13-0 with a 0.32 ERA.
In 87 innings, the left-handed Sing Chow allowed just three earned runs with 99 strikeouts and 15 walks. She batted .476 with 13 RBIs, four doubles, a triple and three home runs.
The Vulcans (33-15 overall, 15-3 Pacific West Conference) will lose four seniors at the end of the season, including pitcher Taysha Anderson.
Shaina Overbay, a switch-hitting shortstop from Sparks, Nev., committed during the early signing period.
