Phoenix V LLC, a group of Hawai'i investors, has reached an agreement with C. Brewer to purchase the assets of the HT&T Truck Center, which has its headquarters in Iwilei. The purchase price was not disclosed.
HT&T, founded 50 years ago on the Big Island as a trucking company, opened the HT&T Truck Center in Waipahu in 1984. The company sells parts and offers repairs and maintenance for medium- and heavy-duty trucks. Estimated annual revenues are more than $15 million.
Phoenix V LLC also owns BEI Hawaii, the state's largest distributor of fertilizer, agricultural and industrial chemicals, and one of the largest environmental consulting companies in the state.
"This is our second acquisition as a group," said Richard Hill, chief executive of BEI Hawaii and head of Phoenix V. "It fits into our strategic plans, as the executives of Phoenix V ran the Truck Center for the past 10 years. We'll continue to operate the company as it currently functions, including selling trucks and parts on the Neighbor Islands, and plan to keep substantially all of the employees."
HT&T Truck Center has 23 full-time employees, 14 of whom are represented by the Operating Engineers Local 3.
