• Local advertising and marketing veteran, Frank Haas, who helped develop the national-award-winning Pizza Hut "Carry Out for Literacy" program, will speak Thursday on the campaign's inherent concept: "Cause Marketing," the commercial partnering of business with charity or social cause, to benefit both, and the community. Espousing the importance of a well-formulated, articulated technology platform in the upcoming elections, the association will ask candidates for ideas on a variety of technology incubation topics: nurturing local and attracting outside technology; creating technology jobs, and establishing an educational system to support a premier technology industry in Hawai'i.
