Now that we've got your complete attention, welcome to the first appearance of The Advertiser's "Attack of the Clones" Lightsaber Meter.

In anticipation of the May 16 premiere of "Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones," we'll be tracking the "Clones" news and gossip floating around the 15 systems of the Galactic Senate, Advertiser news services and the Internet. The most relevant, factual and simply frightening of these will be held up to scrutiny as clues about George Lucas' final "Clones" cut: Will it be cool, or will it suck?

We'll scan each item into the Lightsaber Meter, our handy gauge to track what kind of Star Wars film fans should expect in theaters next month.

Thanks to the four fairly impressive "Clone" movie trailers out for several months now, and a previous Left Lane story on Jar Jar's mere cameo in "Episode II," the Lightsaber Meter sits at an encouraging "8."

Watch the Left Lane for regular updates.
