THE LEFT LANE
'Star Wars' stuff coming tomorrow

Attention Star Wars fanatics: Grab a book and pack a thermos, because the new line of "Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones" merchandise will be out tomorrow.

For hard-core collectors, Wal-Mart will have the goods to go starting at 12:01 a.m. tomorrow. Less nocturnally inclined shoppers can get in line at KB Toys, where the toys will be available starting at 8 a.m., or at other larger toy retailers.

For initial sale, Wal-Mart will carry 20 different action figures (a total of 52 figures will be available by the end of the year), including heroes Anakin Skywalker, Padme Amidala, Obi Wan Kenobi and Mace Windu, as well as bounty hunters Jango Fett and Zam Wesell.

Island getaway

Legion of Melissa Etheridge fans may make Hawai'i trek in July.
Melissa Etheridge's official Web site is tempting the rocker's diehard fans with a five-day "Tropical Getaway" package to Hawai'i that includes a live concert at Blaisdell Arena July 19. The $795 per-person packages were not being sold on the site yet, but included premium reserved tickets to the concert, Waikiki hotel accommodations, a lu'au, Blaisdell Arena transport, souvenirs, and "a night on the town." The package does not include airfare or car rental, and the site includes no mention of Etheridge's intention to check out Honolulu's nightlife with fans.

A formal announcement on individual tickets and a starting time for the concert may come sometime this week. Package details are at www.melissaetheridge.com.

Ultimate 'Survivor'

Richard Hatch, the winner of the first "Survivor" edition, could return.
How would the villainous Richard Hatch do against sweet-talking schemer Tina Wesson? Can you imagine Susan Hawk from the first "Survivor" dressing down Rob Mariano from the current show? Such what-ifs could happen. "Survivor" executive producer Mark Burnett says he's planning an all-star edition next year. The alumni edition wouldn't be limited just to the players who won. He would match his favorite personalities, and said most would love to do it again.

Meanwhile, CBS is planning to shoot the concluding episode of the current "Survivor" in New York City's Central Park, if permission were be granted. The previous editions' final shows were shot in Los Angeles. And Burnett recently received government approval from Thailand to shoot another "Survivor" edition on a tropical island there. He wouldn't confirm that's where "Survivor 5" will be, saying he's also scouted locations in the Amazon.

Also, he said he's still pursuing a deal with Russian authorities to shoot a reality show in space.
