CHARLES WYNDHAM WATSON, former president of Hawaiian Dredging and Construction Co. who pursued a second career as a sculptor, died Saturday in Kane'ohe at the age of 86. He was, like his 1.5-scale sculptures of Hawaiian heroes, larger than life. See story.

Retired from The Queen's Medical Center; Koolauloa Youth Athletic Club president, and active with PAL (Police Activities League), Hawaii Pop Warner Association, and Oahu Interscholastic Association umpire. Survived by sons, Terry, Choy and Patrick; daughters, Sheila Bronson and Noe Kamakeeaina; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Allan, James and Robert Kalua, and Alexander and William Harris; sister, Annie Sugai and hanai sister, Joyce Tani. JOSEPH K.S. FUNG, 83, of Honolulu, died Aril 18, 2002. Retired Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, Shop 51, electrician; Honolulu Community College teacher; and city electrician.
