Water-main break repaired

Classes at Windward Community College in Kane'ohe were expected to resume this morning after repairs on a broken water main.

The break occurred about 2:30 p.m. yesterday near a road widening project on Kea'ahala Road and caused the cancellation of afternoon and evening classes.

About 300 students were affected, said Steven Nakasone, the college's director of administrative services.

Denise De Costa, Board of Water Supply spokeswoman, said the break seemed to affect only the college.
