Tonight's Must-See
"ER," 9 p.m., NBC. When Dr. Susan Lewis (Sherry Stringfield) left the show six years ago, viewers lost track of another story: Whatever happened to Lewis' troubled sister, Chloe, brilliantly played by Kathleen Wilhoite? Now that question returns when Lewis gets a call from Chloe's 6-year-old daughter. Soon, she's in New York, on a desperate search. Aiding her are two of the characters (Yokas and Bosco) from "Third Watch," where the story will conclude. There's another scary call tonight. Dr. Corday gets that from her stepdaughter, who is vacationing in Hawai'i with Corday's ailing husband, Mark Greene. Meanwhile, the new Dr. Pratt (Mekhi Phifer) continues to cause trouble. And Carter blames Kovac for Abby's return to drinking.
Of Note
"Friends," 7 and 7:30 p.m., NBC. First is a new episode centering on Marlo Thomas as Rachel's wealthy mom. She's almost omitted from the baby shower; then she's ready to take over Rachel's life. That's followed by a rerun with a bungled attempt to link Rachel with her baby's father.
"The Empire Strikes Back" (1980), 7 p.m., Fox. In preparation for this summer's release of the latest "Star Wars" movie ("Attack of the Clones") on May 16, Fox is rerunning the originals. This one includes an introduction by C-3P0 and R2-D2, plus scenes from the upcoming film. Mostly, however, it's another chance to catch "Empire."
"'N Sync: Bigger than Live," 7 p.m., WB. Here are concert highlights from the pop group's "No Strings" tour.
"Survivor: Marquesas," 7 p.m., CBS. With just eight people left, the castaways have a competition in which one duo will get a banquet.
"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," 8 p.m., CBS. One case involves a car bombing; another involves an elderly woman who was stabbed.
"Will and Grace," 8 p.m., NBC. This moderately funny episode strays far from typecasting by having Michael Douglas play a gay cop intent on seducing Will. Meanwhile, Molly Shannon returns as the twisted neighbor who is ready to steal Grace's customers.
