Wayne Brady, a master of laughs and impersonation, brings his variety act back to the Islands for a performance at 7:30 p.m. May 24 at the Hawaii Ballroom of the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel. A Maui show is set for 7:30 p.m. May 25, at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Kahului.

Brady — the star of ABC-TV's "The Wayne Brady Show" and "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" — is a multitalented performer married to a local girl, Mandie Taketa. They both previously performed in a short-lived live revue at Aloha Tower Marketplace, but he found success on network television.

"Whose Line" earned him a 2001 Emmy nomination, and "Brady Show" was a popular summer series.

Besides his comedy and variety shows, Brady has performed in regional theater productions of "A Chorus Line," "Jesus Christ Superstar," "I'm Not Rappaport" and "Cotton Patch Gospel." His last Hawai'i engagement was at Diamond Head Theatre in November 2000, where he gave four performances.
