Race Against Violence Sunday; soccer and golf rolled into one in May

The fifth annual Race Against Violence, a benefit for the Domestic Violence Clearinghouse and the University of Hawai'i cross country team, is Sunday in Manoa.
The 5-kilometer run/walk, sponsored by Faerber's Flyers, begins and ends at Manoa Recreation Center. It starts at 7 a.m.
Registration is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Running Room, 819 Kapahulu Ave. Cost is $22 or $17 without a T-shirt. Registration will also be held from 6-6:30 a.m. race day at Manoa Recreation Center for $25.
Soccer golf tournament: The first Hawai'i 50 Soccer Golf Tournament will be on May 4 at the Hawai'i Pacific University soccer field at Castle Junction, Kane'ohe.
The event, a benefit for the Hawai'i Scocer Association's Over 50 Women's Team, is played with soccer balls being kicked through croquet-type hoops over an 18-hole course.
Competitions will be held for youths and adults from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., followed by a happy hour celebration at 5 p.m. at the Pali Golf Course Club House.
Entry fee is $15, and each participant will receive a soccer ball and light refreshments.

Kapalua tennis: The Kapalua Junior Vet/Senior Tennis Championships, for men and women ages 30 to 70, is May 10-12 at Kapalua Tennis Garden, Maui.
Deadline for entries for age-division play in singles, doubles and mixed doubles, is May 5.
Entry fee is $50 per person, includes a T-shirt and dinner party ticket.
