Advertiser wins growth citation
Mike Cusato, vice president for circulation of The Honolulu Advertiser, has been honored as the top circulation executive of the Gannett Co. for 2001.
The award recognizes Cusato's work in making The Advertiser the fastest-growing newspaper in the company, with an average weekday circulation of 152,098 up 38 percent from 2000.
Shareholders OK new name
Bank of Hawaii's parent, Pacific Century Financial Corp., received shareholder approval yesterday to change its name to Bank of Hawaii Corp., reflecting its new focus closer to home.
The company also announced that David W. Thomas, vice chairman for retail banking; Allan R. Landon, vice chairman, treasurer and chief financial officer; and William C. Nelson, vice chairman, chief corporate risk, have been named to the board of subsidiary Bank of Hawaii, effective yesterday.
Finance Realty appoints Murai
Real estate developer Finance Realty named Howard Murai president and CEO of Finance Realty and Finance Investment.
Robert Miyasato, the former president of both companies, has chosen to focus on special projects, the company said. He will take the title of executive vice president of Finance Realty.
Harris receives service award
The Hawai'i Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties has presented an Outstanding Service Award to Honolulu Mayor Jeremy Harris.
The group also presented a lifetime achievement award to developer Duncan MacNaughton at its annual Kukulu Hale Awards, which recognize excellence in commercial real estate.
