Three more robbery suspects, arrested on federal charges in a series of heists targeting pizza delivery workers, made their initial appearance yesterday before federal Magistrate Kevin Chang.
Police on Tuesday arrested Carmichael Doan, 20, and Raymond Ridela, 19. Armond Jackson, 20, was arrested Wednesday.
They were picked up on federal warrants.
Doan's brother Brandon, 18, made his initial court appearance Tuesday.
The robberies occurred March 24 and 27 and April 10 and 14 at various Honolulu locations.
Drivers were robbed when they delivered pizza orders, said Detective Joyce Alapa.
The FBI has taken over the investigation because the robberies targeted national pizza chains, interfering with interstate commerce, Alapa said.
"We want to send a message that these crimes won't be tolerated," Alapa said.
Police said one reason the four men were caught was that a cell phone number used as a call-back number was traced.
"This one was not well thought-out," Alapa said.
"They're young, yeah? So they didn't think of the consequences."
